That's Bloody Brilliant...

Apparently my aunt and sister were a little startled by my lack of updates as well, so thank you all for the outpouring of love! Good to know that even if I was traveling solo in another country I'd be missed relatively quickly. It is a great comfort to me :)

So, today is the first day back to classes for me, and of course, in classic style, nothing worked for me this morning and everyone on campus was trying to print at the same time. Still, the presentation went down pretty well, and I only had to blag a little of it. I'm glad to have the structure of classes back. As much as I enjoyed my holidays... Though... Now I'm gonna have to fight for the kitchen again... That's the only downside!

Good luck on finals everybody! I'm sorry I'm gonna miss graduations... You've all grown up so fast! Still, I look forward to seeing y'all when I get back into the states even if you have metamorphasized into legitimate, productive members of society. I don't really have finals since I'm taking third year classes but not presenting a dissertation. Yet another reason to envy me I know, but what can be done... >:)

Also, I was checking out Snopes.com, as I do every few weeks just to see what kind of urban legend hijinks are circling the virtual world, and they had this bit about Ben and Jerry's and that got me poking around on the ice cream giant's site and I discovered that they are BRINGING BACK MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE FLAVOR. Used to be 'Jerry's Jubilee' now it's gonna be 'Neapolitan Dynamite', but the name is immaterial of course. So that made my day in the silliest possible way. Much like the cherry-headed bears that I saw on an old Japanese man's blog a few days ago. So together, well... You can imagine how goofily pleased I am today.

Anyway, not much to update. I have some major papers in my future and if I were at all a clever little beaver I'd start working on them now... And there's even a remote possibility I might actually do it... I'll keep you posted on anymore traveling I do, which is all a bit hazy right now... TTYL, TTFN

New Photos Up!

I'm home! Actually I've been home for some time now, but it always seems that once you're home there are any number of menial tasks clamoring for your attention. And since there's really no way to make grocery shopping or homework stories interesting I've not felt much of an urge to post! But I got an a slightly concerned email from my grandmother yesterday admonishing me for not keeping up, and so I promised I would publish a new blog today (I had called my parents after I got back into Exeter, and Bumma no doubt rightly assumes they would tell her if I had vanished into some vague Welsh haze. I hope she wasn't overly concerned!). I failed to do this, since it's actually Monday here... But it's only 6 PM Sunday back in Chicago, so that's my excuse!

But as I said, there is really no new news here since I got back from my trip. Just homework and housework. And enjoying the REALLY nice weather we're currently having. Everything is blooming and the breeze is doing an excellent job of wafting various fresh flower and earth smells... It's pretty pastoral and idyllic. But anyway, I've put up a bunch of photos from my trip up at my Photobucket gallery. The photo posted on this blog is me in front of Galway Bay. Not only was it cloudy, but it was also dusk, so there wasn't so much light... But I'm wearing my Irish hat! Just Click Here to be taken to a veritable smorgasbord of pictures in various shades of rain gray. ALL THE TIME WITH THE RAIN! Although, it did make getting back into Exeter nicer than it would otherwise have been since the weather here has been so pleasant. I may put up more pictures later... If I do, I'll do another post. Until then, TTYL, TTFN.
